Meg’s Story Of Transformation: Overcoming Burnout And Walking Again Through Meditation And Fearlessness

I recently completed a walking meditation, and it was an exceptional experience, largely because I was able to walk without difficulty. My journey hasn’t been straightforward; since 2008, I experienced significant stress that led to illness and burnout. While I won’t delve into all the specifics, I want to highlight how I’ve been working lately with a physiotherapist to address issues with my hip. This problem became particularly pronounced since I attended a Progressive Workshop in Amsterdam.

At the Amsterdam workshop, I found that meditation practices significantly improved my condition. As I continued to integrate different kinds of meditation into my routine, I noticed gradual improvements in my overall health and well-being. Today, my progress culminated in a visit to a lake, a trip that was quite significant for me.

During the workshop, one of the activities required participants to wear a button labeled “Fearless.” Inspired by this, I decided to walk to the lake instead of driving. This might seem trivial to some, but the walk was a considerable distance for me. Despite the challenge, I remained determined by embracing the fearless mindset.

Upon reaching the lake, I engaged in my walking meditation. To my astonishment, I managed to complete two laps around the lake. This was a huge accomplishment for me. Not only did I manage the distance, but I also found myself capable of taking larger strides and felt a surge of energy that allowed me to move my hips more freely. The mobility and vitality I experienced were remarkable.

Walking back from the lake, I continued to reflect on how much this experience meant to me. It might not sound like much to others, but completing this walking meditation and managing the physical challenge were monumental for me, given my history and struggles.
